Types of Parking Lots in Dubai
Dubai has a comprehensive parking system for various purposes. The three main types of parking in Dubai are commercial, non-commercial, and special areas, which we explain below.
Commercial Parking Lots in Dubai:
Commercial parking lots are located in commercial and shopping centers. There are many types of parking lots, and they are among the most common parking lots because Dubai has many commercial and shopping centers. The parking lots of Dubai malls and commercial centers consist of two parts: Zone A and Zone B.

Hours: The hours of use of both parking lots are from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Of course, during the holy month of Ramadan, they can be used from 8 am to 6 pm and from 8 pm to midnight.

Dubai Non-Commercial Parking:

The price of these parking lots is lower than commercial parking lots, so they are more popular with the public. The working hours of non-commercial car parks in Dubai are between 8 am and 10 pm and are the same throughout the week.

Salik in Dubai Overview:
Salik in Dubai is a fully automated system that utilizes radio frequency identification technology to deduct tolls from a prepaid account linked to the number plate. This electronic toll collection system was introduced in Dubai in 2007, aiming to provide a hassle-free driving experience for travelers. Salik has revolutionized toll collection in Dubai, reducing traffic congestion and ensuring a smoother commute. Salik Toll Gates in Dubai:
There are a total of eight Salik toll gates in Dubai, located at:
- Al Maktoum Bridge (Um Harir Road)
- Al-Gharhoud Bridge (Sheikh Rashid Road)
- North Al Mamzar (Ittihad Road)
- South Al Mamzar (Ittihad Road)

Salik Timing:
Salik toll gates operate 24 hours a day.
Toll Fee and Payment:
Each pass through a Salik toll gate incurs a fee of 4 dirhams, totaling 5 dirhams including tax, automatically deducted from the prepaid toll account.
Free Salik Toll Gates:
The Al Maktoum Bridge toll is waived on weekdays from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and on weekends from 10:00 PM Saturday to 6:00 AM Monday.
Salik Fines:
Fines can be settled through the website, smart applications, or vehicle registration and inspection centers.
Exemption from Salik Fees:
Certain vehicles, such as military, ambulances, police vehicles, and public RTA buses, are exempt from Salik tolls.
